🎉 Happy long weekend everybody (in the US)! For those planning to spend your time studying the DAO ecosystem, we offer the following curriculum.
🎙 Easy listening 101. In the latest episode of the DAO or Never podcast Logos co-founders Geoffrey Arone and Isaac Patka discuss recent news in web3, including GnosisSafe, a core piece of DAO infrastructure, and what the volatile crypto market means for the long-term potential of DAOs. Also available on Apple and Spotify.
🗣 Debate 201. In response to Decentralized Society: Finding Web3's Soul by Weyl, Ohlhaver, and Buterin, which proposes that trust can be encoded via “non-transferable ‘soulbound’ tokens”, the team at DAOhaus points out that these have been in existence and in effect since the beginning of DAO time.
🧬 Anthropology 301. Communities Aren’t Buckets – They’re Clouds by Joey DeBruin offers a scientific dive into the application and appeal of “polywork” — the concept of an individual contributing to multiple communities, as is often the case in web3 — and presents his thesis on why Twitter is still the most important platform for web3.
🖥 Hack Anatomy 301. In the spirit of see one/do one/teach one, Logos’ Isaac Patka walks us through an attempted hack attack on the Gnosis Safe Snapshot honeypot to understand its limitations and exploit paths, effectively doing your lab homework for you. Read the whole thread for key takeaways and suggestions for making your safe safer. Note: no funds were stolen in this exercise, yet.
⚖️ Legal Frameworks 401 and 402. Miles Jennings and David Kerr of a16z crypto (spun out of Andreessen Horowitz) are proactively navigating the legal uncertainty around DAOs. See A Legal Framework for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations and DAO Entity Features & Entity Selection to better understand and approach legal issues pertaining to DAOs.
🚀 Extracurriculars. Mark your calendar: Sunday, May 29, 8 am PST — MoonDAO NFT Mint. Wanna go to space? Start here.
