🔓 Achievement Unlocked - Ethereum’s Shanghai hard fork, also referred to as “Shapella,” has concluded, enabling withdrawals for users who “staked” their ETH to help secure and validate transactions on the blockchain. Next up: scaling.

⚖️ Structure for Change - The Golden State is a step closer to establishing a legal framework for ‘decentralized nonprofit associations’ and blockchain technology with the introduction of Assembly Bill 1229 by San Francisco Assembly member Matt Haney, reflecting the need to protect consumers as well as the potential and inevitability of the technology. It’s a half-hearted embrace.
🌐 Collaborative Incubating - Blockchain data analytics platform Nansen has joined the Google for Startups Cloud Program, a collective of web3 firms working with Google to provide funds, tools, and access to web3 start-ups.
👟 Location Fluid - Adidas’ hyper-personalized loyalty program ALTS - short for alter ego - is the third stop on Adidas’ web3 roadmap. Adidas is fully embracing web3 and NFTs while engaging with members in both the physical universe and metaverse.
🎯 Focused Acceleration - Layer-1 privacy-enhancing blockchain Aleph Zero has launched a $50M ecosystem funding program to support developer teams building on its platform and advancing blockchain adoption globally.

🪙 MiCa Rules - Lawmakers in the European Union voted 517-38 in favor of a new crypto licensing regime, Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA). The milestone makes the EU the first major jurisdiction in the world to introduce a comprehensive crypto law, simultaneously protecting consumers and openly welcoming the business of web3.
🖼️ Bandwagoneers - The Romanian government is joining the digital asset ecosystem. The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI) aims to drive web3 adoption in the country with its in-house NFT trading platform.
🇦🇪 Collaborative Governance - The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), a free-trade zone in the United Arab Emirates, is welcoming feedback on its proposed web3 and distributed ledger technology (DLT) regulations in efforts to create a regulatory framework that attracts blockchain and crypto firms to the region. Speak up!
🏦 Digital Gold - The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe will introduce a gold-backed digital currency to serve as legal tender in the country. The government initiative aims to stabilize the local currency from continued depreciation against the US dollar.

💌 Onchain Messenger - Web3 notification platform Yoz Labs has raised $3.5M led by Electric Capital to build a scalable messaging notification system that will allow developers to send instant on-chain notifications to users.
🎨 Art Platform - HUG, a social marketplace connecting artists with collectors, raised a $5M seed funding round led by DIGITAL. HUG is dedicated to democratizing access to art and changing how artists are recognized and discovered.
💵 Blockchain Marketing - Absolute Labs closed an $8M seed round led by Aglaé Ventures. The company aims to help brands acquire and engage customers in the web3 world with its Wallet Relationship Management (WRM) platform.
🥋 Sports DAO - Karate Combat, the first sports league structured as a DAO, with members holding governance power, raised $18M in funding led by BITKRAFT Ventures. Funds will support the launch of its gaming app and token.
