🧪 Shanghai Upgrade Approaches - The Sepolia testnet, an Ethereum test network, successfully replicated the withdrawal process for staked ETH, bringing the Ethereum blockchain one step closer to the Shanghai upgrade, which will mark Ethereum’s complete transition to a fully functional proof-of-stake network.
Web3 for the People
📀 Non-Fungible Tunes - Steaming platform Spotify is experimenting with token-enabled playlists that allow holders of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to connect their wallets and enjoy curated music. This feature is currently available for Android users in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.
🎵 TikTok Meets Web3 - Web3 music streaming platform Audius is integrating with social media behemoth TikTok. The integration will allow TikTok users to seamlessly create Audius accounts and share Audius songs in their TikTok videos.
💵 Web3 for Dummies - Bitski, a web3 wallet supported by a16z, has launched a user-friendly mobile wallet and secure browser extension in hopes of attracting more people to the world of web3 and NFTs. Designed to be foolproof, the wallet features a transaction simulator to help users avoid phishing scams, among other features.

⛅️ Big Tech on Blockchain - Google Cloud announced it will become a validator on the Tezos network, growing its list of blockchain integrations. Such integrations demonstrate the growing interest tech giants are taking in blockchain and web3 projects, and may inspire confidence in other companies looking to enter the industry.
🇭🇰 Web3 Support - Hong Kong has allocated $6.4M to further develop its web3 ecosystem. The funds will be used to facilitate various initiatives, such as hosting international seminars, promoting cross-sectoral business cooperation, and conducting workshops for young people.
🐧 Open Foundation - Linux Foundation Europe recently launched the OpenWallet Foundation (OWF) with the goal of developing open-source software supporting interoperability across a range of wallet use cases. These include making payments, proving identity, and storing validated credentials such as employment, education, financial standing, and entitlements.
🪙 Tokenized Tangibles - Tokenized Apple and Tesla stock will soon be available for purchase on Polygon, as will a pair of tokenized bond ETFs representing U.S. treasuries. However, these assets won’t be available to U.S. investors upon launch. The issuer of these tokens is a subsidiary of Swarm, a regulated Berlin-based exchange.
🌐 Base Network - Coinbase, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has introduced Base, an Ethereum-focused layer-2 (L2) blockchain. Base aims to make the web3 economy accessible to more users by simplifying the process of developing decentralized applications (dApps) for developers and enabling users to easily access those dApps through Coinbase products.
📱 Huawei Joins Web3 - Huawei Cloud, the cloud infrastructure division of Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies, announced the formation of the web3 and metaverse alliance, a partnership with Morpheus Labs, Polygon and several other blockchain firms. The goal of the partnership is to create a comprehensive ecosystem, with partners combining resources and efforts towards providing users with a professional infrastructure and diverse range of solutions.

💰 Building Web3 - Blockchain Founders Fund, a venture capital fund supporting the adoption of blockchain technology, closed a $75M fundraising round. Key investors include Polygon, Ripple, NEO Global Capital, and more. The fund will support high-growth potential pre-seed and seed-stage startups facilitating the mass adoption of web3 and blockchain technology.
🥼 Minimizing Risk - Congratulations to cloud platform Chaos Labs on your $20M seed round, led by PayPal Ventures and Galaxy, in support of your quest to provide more secure blockchains and protocols.
