šŸŽ™ The latest episode of the DAO or Never podcast is out, and it’s full of observations, opinions, and opportunities. Logos co-founders Geoffrey Arone and Isaac Patka explain LlamaPay, share how you can participate in DAO Palace as a filmmaker, dive into Merit Circle DAO’s decision to dismiss an investor, and much more. Available onĀ AppleĀ andĀ Spotify.

šŸ”Ž On the topic of observations…

Despite the current - and we believe, temporary - turmoil in the web3 ecosystem, we can’t help but notice the race by traditional players to adopt web3 structures, strategies, products, and values.

šŸ’° VC3 is a venture capital fund being formed in the structure of web3. Over 150+ established venture capital professionals (read: web2 natives) will form and operate as a DAO.

šŸ› eBay announced its acquisition of KnownOrigin, a platform for NFT creation and commerce. The move is a clear endorsement of the desirability of NFTs as a way to experience and collect digital art while empowering and fairly compensating artists. Read what KnownOrigin’s founders say about the deal.

šŸ’µ Facebook announced Meta Pay, currently just a rebranding of Facebook Pay, but which is envisioned to function like a lot of crypto wallets already do, with the added ambition of interoperability. If it can eliminate the hassle and expense of moving tokens from one network to another, you’ll find me cheering them on.

šŸ¤” Everyone has an opinion…

Frankly, we haven’t quite decided how we feel about web2 behemoths building in web3. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose? Would we welcome an acquisition? Open to hearing all sides.

SLND1, the first governance proposal for Solend DAO has been proposed.

šŸ—³ A Solend governance proposal is causing many to question the rights and responsibilities of members in a decentralized ecosystem. After the organization identified a user with a highly risky financial position, a proposal was created to forcibly take over the user's account through an emergency power feature and close their position. Nearly 99% of the vote weight came from one address, only 1% of potential voters turned out, and the voting period was closed before many likely had a chance to react. Some questions: Why does a decentralized ecosystem have an emergency account takeover capability? What would have been an appropriate amount of time to give the community to respond?

šŸ”‘ Web3 opportunities knock…

Recent layoffs have released a slew of tech builders and enthusiasts into the wild. Fortunately, opportunities to learn and contribute abound. Bounty boards are one place to start. Or, if you qualify:

🌿 Applications are open for a PadawanDAO sponsorship. Young builders and hackers are encouraged to showcase their blockchain expertise to earn a sponsorship to EthCC in Paris this July. It’s not a job, it’s a community. Deadline: June 29.

šŸ† Accolades

Gnosis Safe announced the first class of Safe Guardians, recognizing the ecosystem’s most valued members based on proven contributions to SafeDAO and the public good. Not surprisingly, expert DAO-hacker and Logos co-founder, Isaac Patka, is amongst the chosen - and proven - ones.
