🎞️ Blockchain Blockbuster - Slamdance 2023, an Oscar-accredited film festival being held in Park City, Utah, is premiering Fuzzy Head from writer-director Wendy McColm. The film was financed through a blockchain-powered crowdfunding platform that enables filmmakers to democratize their financing process while extending investment opportunities to accredited and unaccredited investors alike.
🔣 Encoded Ethereum - Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin, offers a possible solution to what he describes as the remaining challenge for the Ethereum ecosystem: privacy, as all information on a public blockchain is publicly available. Buterin proposed the idea of ‘stealth addresses’ that can anonymize peer-to-peer transactions, NFT transfers, and Ethereum Name Service (ENS) registrations.
🤝 Transaction Simulation - Web3 developer platform Alchemy released its latest transaction simulation product aimed at mitigating the risk of transactions being susceptible to scams. The innovative solution is available on the Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum blockchains.
🔷 Ethereum Upgrade - Testing has begun for the Ethereum Shanghai upgrade, scheduled for March. The upgrade aims to enable staked ether withdrawals and is being tested using a shadow fork testnet where developers simulate attacks with malicious nodes in search of vulnerabilities.
👔 The DataVerse - Introducing VESS, a portable, self-sovereign, work identity protocol that empowers individuals to own, control, and easily share their work identities. VESS has opened up pre-registration for SYNAPSS, a web3 professional marketplace - think LinkedIn + Upwork - that enables users to find job opportunities and specializes in connecting web3 talent.
🎨 Human Creativity - Attention creators! The Artizen daily grant for human creativity is now open. Receive community-based funding for your project at any stage of development, from rough idea to released work, in any medium, from oil paintings to open source code. Artizen provides funding to creators who positively impact the world through art, science, technology, and design.
🌎 Crypto Climate Control - Against the backdrop of the climate crisis, the Blockchain x Climate Leadership Network (BxC) announced its launch at the GBBCouncil’s 6th Annual Blockchain Central at Davos. BxC is bridging influential organizations in web2 and web3 to collectively align, design, and accelerate solutions on behalf of Planet Earth.
